We are currently involved in a major strategic deer management planning project in the Highlands. Part of the work involves meeting each of the landowners (and often also their stalkers and agents) to learn about how each estate works, in order that an overview of the whole area can be obtained. It has been really fascinating learning about each area, and realising how diverse the landholdings and the management objectives of each owner are. The ultimate aim of the project is to develop a strategic deer management plan for the entire Deer Management Group.
