Afforested peatland restoration

We began a really interesting project this month assessing the potential to restore active blanket bog on three sites in Lanarkshire.  Two are currently afforested and one is an old peat extraction site.  The sites are all very different, and it has been a really useful exercise being able to compare and contrast them in the initial part of the study.  We plan to develop costed peatland restoration management plans…
