We’ve been busy working on a range of new native woodland projects recently. The biggest one is a plan we have produced for a 220ha new woodland in the south of Scotland – the site is an interesting one as there is c. 600ha of bog restoration and 200ha of other restoration intermingled within the planting areas. The overall land use change from forestry to 1,000ha of new habitats will be interesting to follow, especially in relation to its capability to deliver natural flood management benefits. We will also be helping contribute to a Deer Management Plan for a new native woodland in the north of Scotland in coming months, as well as helping continue to manage several other sites we have previously designed and helped establish.
