We were awarded a contract to work with the RSPB and Garnock Connections Landscape Partnership this month. We therefore decided to go and have a look at a couple of lowland bog restoration sites before we started.
There have been some interesting developments at Fannyside Moss where we did a restoration feasibility study (now with heavily-flooded drain channels) and at Portmoak where a raised bog rand has been re-profiled (can’t say we are entirely clear on the long-term benefits of this but interesting to see the process nevertheless).
